November 24, 2025
Partnership Enables Archiware P5 Customers to Seamlessly Archive to Geyser’s Cold Data Cloud
November 24, 2025 — Irvine, CA & Munich, Germany — Geyser Data, a leading provider of cloud-based tape archiving solutions, today announced a new technical integration and partnership with Archiware, a global software leader in media asset management and data protection. This collaboration brings Geyser’s Cold Data Cloud directly into the Archiware P5 ecosystem, giving media and entertainment professionals an unprecedented new option for secure, scalable, and cost-effective long-term storage. Geyser’s unique approach delivers LTO-based tape storage-as-a-service, using customer-dedicated tapes to create a secure private cloud archive, with greater speed and lower costs than conventional public cloud archives.
Archiware customers, especially those in post-production, broadcasting, and creative studios, can now seamlessly archive data to Geyser’s Cold Data Cloud using familiar P5 workflows. This integration provides an innovative alternative to traditional cloud or on-premises tape solutions, eliminating hardware complexity while avoiding the high fees typically associated with public cloud storage.
“Our integration with Archiware brings the power of cloud-optimized tape directly to media professionals,” said Nelson Nahum, CEO of Geyser Data. “Archiware’s global presence and flexible licensing model make them an ideal partner. Together, we’re simplifying the long-term archive process and delivering massive cost savings to post-production houses and broadcasters around the world.”
The Geyser Cold Data Cloud is powered by Spectra Logic’s advanced tape architecture and is fully compatible with Amazon S3 and Amazon Glacier APIs. For Archiware P5 users, it delivers:
● Lowest-cost cloud archive — with no egress or retrieval fees
● Seamless scalability — for everything from small productions to petabyte-scale studios
● Secure, long-term preservation — ideal for 4K/8K video, raw footage, and creative assets
● Effortless integration — with familiar Archiware P5 Backup and Archive modules
“This partnership is a win for our customers,” said Marc Batschkus, business development manager at Archiware. “Geyser’s Tape-as-a-Service platform gives P5 users an innovative, cloud-native archive target with the durability of enterprise tape and the simplicity of S3. It’s an ideal solution for the long-term challenges of media archiving.”
