Working with Geyser

iRODS works with Geyser Data by designating the Geyser Cold Data Cloud as a storage resource for archival and long-term retention. Using standard object storage interfaces, iRODS policies can automatically move or replicate data into Geyser’s cold archive tier based on age, usage, or governance requirements. This enables organizations to offload infrequently accessed data from high-cost storage while maintaining policy-based control over retention and access.


Geyser’s S3-compatible interface and predictable cost model provide an effective alternative to public cloud archive services that may introduce complexity or unpredictable retrieval costs. Together, iRODS and Geyser support a seamless, automated approach to long-term data preservation.
